Working Method

I come to your home or office and do numerous sketches and photos. This usually takes two to three hours. I then draw up at least two, but usually three to four drawings from this session for you to choose from. I then correct drawings in the pose you choose and draw this up to the size of the painting you want. After this is approved, I do underpainting from my sketches and photos. At this point I will need at least two sittings with each person to complete the face. I can use photos for reference, but there is nothing like painting from life. Depending on the size of the canvas I can either paint at your house (as I sometimes do with young children) or you come to my studio. The entire process usually takes at least two months, depending on canvas size and the number of people in the painting.
